Football is the most played sport in the world, the Football. With over 2.3 million players registered with the French Football Federation in France itself. There are different ways of playing this sport, and therefore different pitches. Let’s take a look at the dimensions regulated by Fifa and suitable for each type of practice :

The dimensions of a football pitch can vary, with a length between 90 and 120 metres (measured along the touchline) and a width between 45 and 90 meters (measured along the goal line). As a result, the total surface area of the pitch also varies, ranging from 4,050 to 10,800 square meters. That’s why some pitches look bigger than others, because it’s technically possible.

What are the differences between 11-a-side football and 8-a-side football ? What you need to know is that 8-a-side football is suitable for children aged between 9 and 12, i.e. from U10 to U13. As a general rule, an 8-a-side football pitch can be half an 11-a-side football pitch, but because pitch dimensions vary, here are the regulatory dimensions: a length of between 60 and 70 meters, with a width of between 45 and 55 meters.

Soccer 5-a-side pitch

The dimensions of soccer pitches are between 18 and 20 meters wide and 30 to 35 meters long, according to FFF specifications. The main feature of the Foot5 (also known as Five) installation is the absence of sidelines and conventional goals. Instead, the game takes place in a zone delimited by perimeter panels topped by a ball-stop net, allowing the ball to remain constantly in play.
